This morning was the chilliest of the trip so far at 56
degrees. We put on heated gear knowing we’d be at elevation for a few hours.
We left at 7:50 am, got gas and returned to I-80 West. We
stopped after two hours for a break. The scenery was great this morning.
The Sinclair plant claimed to be the most modern refinery.
We rode another hour to lunch in Rock Springs, WY at
Renegade Cafe. We were offered fry sauce with our fries. Pop quiz, who knows
what this is? We had to ask. We got turkey clubs and enjoyed the break
After lunch we got on US 191 South, a scenic byway to
Flaming Gorge recreational area.
We rode into Utah, on Utah highway 44 and
took pictures at scenic overlooks and saw the dam.
We got on Utah 43 back into Wyoming, where we took 414
back to I-80 at Ft Bridger.
We saw a few black-faced sheep.
These rock formations had a greenish hue to them. They looked like piles of concrete.
We rode West until an hour from Layton and took another
break. Our last push was into Layton and to our hotel. We arrived 7pm local
time.
Today’s mileage was 460 and we had perfect temperatures
all day due to higher elevations. Tomorrow we visit Antelope Island with NV our day's destination.

Fantastic photos! Envy going on here! (Tom)
